5 things that have had the biggest positive impact on how I work
I try out a lot of productivity apps and gadgets. A LOT.
Here are the 5 things that have had the biggest positive impact on how I work (in no particular order):
1. reMarkable: This tablet is amazing -- feels like you're writing on paper, has good writing to text function, great cloud-based storage, and you can mark up PDFs and email them easily. You need good file naming conventions but it's a game-changer if you're big on note taking by hand. It's expensive at A$679 but certainly worth it for me -- I've had mine for a few years and am currently awaiting delivery of my reMarkable 2.
2. Bose QuietComfort 35 headphones: I often listen to music when I work. These headphones have great audio quality, they're wireless, and the noise cancelling function is a life saver in a noisy office/home. They're expensive at A$379 but mine have lasted 5 years without showing signs of age.
3. Notion: By far the best platform for knowledge management that I've ever come across. Super flexible and great functions if you want a clean and efficient platform to organise your IP. US$8/mth/user for the Team option.
4. Roost laptop riser: Avoid 'hunched-over laptop syndrome' by getting a good laptop riser -- this one is ace. A bit pricey at A$129 but well worth it if you need a portable option.
5. Motion: This Google Chrome extension streamlines how you use your calendar, schedule and join meetings. So good if, like me, you have more than one calendar to juggle. $US10/mth.
